Environmental Impact Note:

Environmental Review and Future Land-Use Note

Site photographs show extensive clearing, grading, blasting, wetland alteration, and drainage changes within a sensitive habitat area. Wildlife impacts should be reviewed as part of the broader environmental history, including the effect of blasting, wetland disturbance, drainage changes, and habitat disruption on protected species, migratory birds, and the surrounding ecosystem.

Future Land-Use Note

Carl Hale did not leave this land unused by choice. From the beginning, the property was intended for productive family use, including possible farming, nursery activity, and future development. However, repeated regulatory restrictions, wetland disputes, and cease-and-desist conditions prevented normal use of the property for many years.

During that time, the land naturally reforested, consistent with prior Natural Heritage direction. Trees, brush, and wetland-tolerant vegetation are now established in portions of the site. This reforestation reflects years of restricted use, not abandonment.

Before any future farming, nursery, driveway, wetland-plant growing area, or restoration-compatible use can be responsibly considered, the actual wetland/aquifer condition must first be clarified.
